Today you will visit the secluded village of Masca - known for its dramatic landscape and vintage cottages - and Garachico, a town that resurfaced from the ashes after being destroyed by a volcanic eruption more than 300 years ago. The safari jeeps will find their way to places inaccesible by other means and your guides will tell you the history, anecdotes, and curious facts about each place. You will also visit Santiago del Teide, a pretty town in the foothills of one of the island’s peaks. From there, you will descend to catch the magnificient views of the Los Gigantes Ciffs. During the tour, you will stop at a restaurant in El Tanque where you can try Canarian cuisine.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for a day of hiking and Canarian wine. Work up an appetite with an enjoyable hike through a typical Canarian laurisilva forest in beautiful Tacoronte, on the north coast of Tenerife. Later, get to know the historical Monje winery and learn about wine making on the island. Enjoy a delightful 3-course lunch and taste top quality wines from the winery. Before returning to your hotel, take in the outstanding panoramic views from the restaurant’s terrace, overlooking Mt. Teide and the coastline.
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning to yourself; relax at your hotel or explore the town. In the afternoon, you'll visit Las Cañadas National Park, home to Mt. Teide. This park is characterized by its unique, lunar landscape and beautiful plant life. Once in the park, pass the Chinyero volcano (site of the last major volcanic eruption in Tenerife in 1909) and stop at Roques de Garcia, where you can admire the view of Mt. Later, you'll enjoy the beautiful sunset overlooking the other Canary Islands and can stop to take memorable photos at a few of Mt. Teide’s stunning vistas.
The day is yours to enjoy! Consider visiting Loro Parque, a world-class attraction that was originally intended to be a refuge for parrots. Today, the park houses an immense diversity of animal species, integrated amidst palm trees and other exotic plants. Its commitment to conservation and sustainability has made Loro Parque one of the most recognized zoos in the world, boosting over 44 million visitors since its gates first opened in 1972.
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up at your hotel for your transfer to the airport. Safe travels!
