The #YosoyTenerife Campaign on the Tram Reaches More Than 1.6 Million Users in a Month

Needham, MA

The labeling of one of the convoys covering the route between Santa Cruz and La Laguna will last two more months.

The Tenerife tram convoy has reached more than 1.6 million users throughout the metropolitan area with the image of the #YosoyTenerife tourist awareness campaign. It balances the first month of circulation of the vehicle in an initiative of the Cabildo, through Turismo de Tenerife, that will last for two more months.

The CEO of the entity dependent on the island corporation, Vicente Dorta, went to the Intercambiador stop this morning to mark the fulfillment of the first 30 days of the action. Dorta emphasizes that "the involvement of the local population in tourism is key, regardless of the sector to which one is dedicated ". Dorta adds that from industry to commerce, passing through the hotel trade, "tourism affects all productive areas of Tenerife."

65 percent of the metropolitan population is at a maximum distance of 500 meters from each of the tram stops. The convoy labeled with the image of #YosoyTenerife measures 33 meters long by 2.5 meters high, and is a unique promotional tool that circulates daily during the regular service hours. With almost 60,000 daily users, it gives great visibility to a campaign that seeks for the local population to know the importance of tourism for the Island, its main economic activity. The initiative of the tram also includes the presence of similar elements at the Weyler stop, one of the busiest stops for passengers.
