RollFestival will turn Puerto de la Cruz into the 'capital' of extreme sports

The new Extreme Sports Audiovisual Festival of Puerto de la Cruz, 'RollFestival', reaches the tourist city with a clear objective: to provide the Canary Islands with an audiovisual works exhibition platform related to extreme sports, risk and adventure. This international event will have the participation of some of the most important national and international athletes. The projections of the audiovisual pieces will take place on September 7 and 8 in a setting such as Playa de Martiánez.

In the words of the organization, the festival aims to be "a platform for the dissemination of all audiovisual creation linked to risky and extreme sports; skydiving, bungee jumping, parkour, mountaineering, abseiling, paragliding, rafting, surfing, skateboarding, kitesurfing and any type of sport that requires a large dose of adrenaline ".

The Councilor for Sports of the Porto City Council, Javier González states this will be "a unique opportunity to enjoy an international film festival, where extreme sports, leisure, adventure and strong emotions will meet in an incomparable setting”.

The mayor of Tourism, Dimple Melwani, valued the RollFestival as an opportunity to "visualize and promote the Puerto de la Cruz from a unique tourist setting, the Playa de Martiánez and Avda.”

The deadline will be August 20 at 2:00 p.m. As of September 1, the selected works will be announced through the event’s website, which will become part of the contest and will be screened outdoors on the 7th and 8th of the same month. The winning works will receive different cash prizes. 

One of the main objectives of the 'RollFestival' is to infuse the tourist diffusion of the northern municipality by promoting the tourist-natural resources and educating the values ​​towards the environment. It also tries to awaken the interest of young people to audiovisual art, as well as for sport and the values ​​that it transmits. Finally, it seeks to promote and value Puerto de la Cruz as an urban destination for experiences in which to develop activities first level sports.
